The Self Coaching Model is a tool that provides foundation for how we live. It shows us that all problems are thought problems and can be solved at the level of the mind. This tool does not solve our problems, it reveals them. It is equal parts simple, wildly difficult, and mind-blowing!
Here is The Self Coaching Model:

In further detail:
Circumstances are facts that everyone in the world would agree on.
Thoughts are simply sentences in our minds, subjective, our story about the circumstances.
Feelings are vibrations in our body that come from thoughts.
Actions are the behavior, reaction or inaction to a feeling.
Results are the effect of our actions and are always evidence for our thoughts.
Seems obvious, right? Our thoughts create our reality and those thoughts are our truth, not THE truth. This seems simple intellectually, but becomes more difficult to dissect when we apply it to our own lives.
Our subjective, biased brain wants us to think our situation is different from what the self coaching model teaches. That for you and me: our circumstances cause our results aka the world around us causes our problems. That our boss is the reason we don’t like our job or our triathlon coach is the reason we’re not racing our fastest. I hate to break it to you, but there are no special circumstances here…no exceptions. 100% of the time: your circumstances are neutral, your thoughts cause your feelings, your feelings cause your actions, and your actions cause your results.
What would change for you if you adopted this way of seeing the world?
